students

One of South Harrison’s major goals is to set students up for success in their career and life. That is why we offer endless opportunities for every student, across all grade levels, to explore their interests and discover career paths that spark their interests and get them curious. Today, students at Corydon Intermediate School participated in a day full of career exploration at Career Day.

Community members across multiple professions shared the details of their career to students. From pharmacists to histotechnicians, horse trainers to K-9 officers, and more - Career Day peaked the interest of every student!

studentsEach guest brought their unique background, expertise, demonstrations, personal stories to interactive Q&A sessions. Students were eager to observe a police dog in action, responding to its officer’s commands. A histotechnician also wowed students by passing around real tissue samples from a lab. In another classroom, girls gathered around a cosmetologist to watch a hair braiding demonstration. Each session offered a look into a different field leaving students inspired.

studentsNot only did students hear about potential careers - they experienced them firsthand with hands-on demonstrations. Students got to practice throwing a lasso like a real Horse Trainer while others navigated the controls on a hospital stretcher like an actual EMT.

studentsDays like today are designed to help students think about their dreams and goals, and discover their passion. Career Day served not only as an educational event but also as a powerful reminder that the future holds endless possibilities!
