If your child rides bus 34 this morning, it will be running between 5-10 minutes late.
April 8 is Kindergarten Round Up! Families, please pre-enroll your student before coming. All the details on how to do so can be found in pinned news article below.
Preschool Roundup is coming at South Central Elementary School on April 10 from 2:00-6:00 pm.
If your child will be 4 by August 1, 2025 then they are eligible to attend!! Please come by the school during this time to meet with Preschool Staff and discuss the free and paid preschool options and the processes for each.
Our Kindergarten Roundup is coming up April 8 from 2:00-6:00. This is a great opportunity to meet our future students and for everyone to meet the kindergarten teachers and see the building. If you have a student who will be in kindergarten next door, please call the school at 812-969-2973 to schedule a time during that day to come in. If the day/times don't work for you then you can also call in and we will set up a time individually.

Thursday, February 20, 2025: South Harrison Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay. Weather conditions will continue to be monitored overnight. If the decision to close must be made, then the day will become an eLearning day.

Bus 37 is running late this morning because of a traffic issue on 111 and Dolittle Hill.
Please remember that there is meal pickup at the school today from 8:00-10:00 today. Also, if you would like to stop by the building to get your child's backpack or jacket or anything left yesterday we are available for that too.
There was a report of smoke in a room at South Central Elementary first thing this morning. All students were taken outside and are safe. At this time, the fire department and EMA have cleared the building. Out of an abundance of caution we are currently holding all elementary students in the auxiliary gym. We will have a firefighter remain on site throughout the morning to ensure no other issues arise.
As of 12:45 PM all buses are back at South Central and every student was dropped off at their homes or designated after-school location. The decision regarding tomorrow will be made in a few hours and shared with families this evening.
